Pelita Harapan University Department of Civil Engineering held STAEDTLER SPAGHETTI BRIDGE COMPETITION for the fifth time.
UPH, Lippo Village (05/11) ? Pelita Harapan University Department of Civil Engineering held STAEDTLER SPAGHETTI BRIDGE COMPETITION for the fifth time. The competition was participated by 53 teams from high school students in JABODETABEK.
“We created this event so that there will be more high school students who are interested in Civil Engineering. Thus, the main goal is how to make the event fun but in effective way to attract their interest,” said Elisabeth Jacinta, a Civil Engineering student batch 2008, chairman of the committee.
According to Paulina, the physics teacher of SMAK Kalam Kudus II, the first winner of Spaghetti Bridge Competition 2008, the theory of equilibrium point (physics) can be used to estimate the durability of the bridge.
Ansony Setiawan and Anastasia Gunawan (SMAK Kalam Kudus II), scholarship recipients majoring in Civil Engineering batch 2009 who had represented his school in this competition agree with that. “The important thing is there must be a lot of testing. Prioritizing the arch, a strong adhesive (glue), pedestal, and the resistance bridge itself. This year, the bridge model is more varied.” Sony added.
