UPH Festival 17: Gala Concert

Land of Praises

?Hallelujah!? Our Indonesia ranging from Sabang to Merauke is rich in cultures and diversities. Every region owns its customs, traditions and beliefs, which is a factor that often causes conflicts among each other. However, by the saving souls and union of the whole nation in God, they will all bring peace, songs and dances in a perfect worship to Him. That is the illustration of musical drama performed in Gala Concert ?Land of Praises? on Wednesday, 11 August 2010, at Grand Chapel, UPH.

The series of praises brought by Delima Simamora (soloist), Angela July Riyanto (soloist), and UPH Combine Choir, accompanied by UPH Symphony Orchestra, had brought the whole audience into the atmosphere of worship that evening. Ridolf Hehanussa (music director and conductor), Jack Simanjuntak (producer), Tomislav Dimov (concert master) and Boy Marpaung (acting director) cooperated together with UPH Performing Arts Department had created such a wonderful performance in UPH Festival 17.

Arbab, Baluse, and Puang sa? pa La buda were the several songs brought in the Gala Concert. There were also contemporary and traditional dance performances from Toraja, Batak and Papua. For about two hours, the whole elements of music, voices, acting and costumes had created such a truly unforgettable performance that reminded the audience on the importance of worship and union in Christ.
