Transformational Through Holistic Education Education is one of the major keys for one?s development, forming and finally wholeness as a human being. He has to live not only for himself, but also for his surroundings. When the knowledge is accompanied with faith and Godly characters, then it will determine the success of the school. By carrying the vision of ?True Knowledge, Faith in God, and Godly Character?, Universitas Pelita Harapan makes an holistic education as its commitment in educating the students. On the first day of UPH Festival, UPH held ?Parents Gathering? to facilitate and share to the parents that it is not enough to depend on educational institutions alone because parents also play another most important role in supporting the education of their children. They are the source for the sustainable motivation, direction and goals of their children?s education. The event was conducted to give a deeper comprehension to the parents on how UPH supports maximum educational accomplishments for all of its students in performing its role as an educational institution, explain about educational concepts, supporting facilities and partnerships which UPH has. Parents Gathering was packed with a simple concept through sharing among parents, alumni and the students. In tune to its vision and mission, UPH holds UPH Festival every year to welcome its new students. With the theme of ?Be Transformed? this year, Jonathan Parapak as the UPH?s Rector stated: ?Education is a renewal, and through UPH Festival, our message is that an holistic educational has a meaning of a renewal.? With the renewal theme, hopefully it will bring all of the UPH students in becoming better people. (feb) ? UPH Media Relations |
