In order to encourage the expansion of Indonesia?s tourism, Pelita Harapan School of Hospitality and Tourism (STPPH) organized a two-day event named EXIT on April 25-26, 2011. This event featured seminars, competitions, workshops, exhibitions, expositions, bazaar, and stage performances.
One of the speakers featured in the seminar was I Gede Ardika, Former Minister of Tourism. In his presentation entitled ?The Global Tourism Tendency and Its Impact on Human Capital,? he mentioned the ethics of global tourism. He also explained how globalization has certain impacts on Indonesia?s tourism. Indonesia is a very diverse country and it is profitable for tourism. The event invited many universities and tourism vocational schools, such as Trisakti, Sahdi, and Bandung Tourism School. Exit also invited several hotels, such as Grand Hyatt Hotel, Ritz Carlton, Marriott, Aryaduta Hotel, and Mandarin Oriental to enliven the event. Clubs related to tourism, such as Liquid Dive were also invited to join the expositions. Exhibitions and competitions were most favored by the visitors. One of the competitions that drew many attentions was Bartending Competition held on Monday, April 25, 2011 on Building D Lobby. Eleven participants coming from various tourism schools joined the competition. The participants were challenged to create a beverage themed Indonesia Sensational Fruit. In this competition, a student from Binus University, Vicki Lie, was chosen as the winner with his beverage creation named ?Wild Cherry Peach.? He successfully impressed the three judges, Ebony, Wawan, and Vasco, with his bartending technique and beverage taste. |

Besides the competition, exhibitions were also favored. Visitors from UPH and other school tourism even got the chance to taste the food exhibited. One of the visitor, Isa Supardi from SMK Gema Gawita, Cikokol said that the event was very interesting. ?The event is pretty good and creative.
