Jonathan L. Parapak., M.Eng.Sc, Prof. Franz Magnis Suseno Ph.D., Dr. Tanri Abeng, MBA, and Mrs. Yenny Wahid Zannuba. With more than 200 people attending the session, this seminar has become a place to highlight the development of leadership in Indonesia. This activity was useful for the young generation to embed the nation?s mission in Indonesia. This seminar highlighted various problems in Indonesia?s leadership, such as the portrait of Indonesia’s leadership in the past, present, and future, and what the recommendations are for Indonesia’s leadership, and about the future leaders of Indonesia. According to Dr. (HC). Jonathan L. Parapak, to produce leaders of integrity, right education is required. “Our nation is in very alarming situation. To be right, we need the true leader that has high integrity, who has a good understanding in nationalism holistically,” he said. Prof. Franz Magnis Suseno explained about ?Review Ethical, Moral and Cultural Nation?s Leadership?. According to Prof. Franz four threats in the leadership of the Indonesian people are autonomy, social justice, religious radicalism, corruption and moral decay. “We require a reorientation of our political life and we have to be able to return to the ideals of the nation,” he added. Mrs. Yenny Wahid also delivered a variety of facts that exist in Indonesia and expressed her hope to the young generation about the figure of the nation’s future leaders. The future leader is someone who have to foster public confidence back to the leader. “Now we have to invite ourselves to belong to the second generation”, she said. Leadership is about inspiring and giving something to others. The three-hour seminar featured solo vocal performance and discussion. (vgr) UPH Media Relations |
