Every year, UPH Festival always organizes a special event dedicated to parents of new students, called Parents Gathering. At UPH Festival 18, the meeting held on Thursday, August 4, 2011 was entitled “The Best Legacy For My Children.” This event helps parents to understand about Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH). The event was opened with an explanation about UPH, in terms of both education, and facilities, as well as the introduction of UPH staff. More than 300 parents are also convinced that they are choosing the right place for their children to study with the testimonials from some students and alumni. Furthermore, UPH Founder, Dr. (HC) James T. Riady conveyed a special message to parents about the significance of a legacy of good education that each parent should give it to their children. “There is too much knowledge in this world today. The key is how we can choose the right info, therefore we need to learn about the right direction and value and the process of learning itself,” he said. Parents are encouraged to recognize the potential of their children, because education is not just about knowledge inside their brains, but also about each individual?s personal development.
