Currently, it is quite difficult to obtain free education. Many students are unable to continue their study because of limited opportunities. It can bring unfavorable influence for the nation. To support the development of national education, UPH provides up to 1000 scholarships for all high school students in the country. In the Scholarship Day held at UPH Graduate Campus, Plaza Semanggi, UPH scholarships team gave a lot of information about the scholarships such as categories, types, and the requirements needed. Scholarships available at UPH are divided into four categories: academic achievement, limited financial conditions, art achievements, and sports achievements. Started from 2:30 pm, the event was opened with remarks from UPH Rector. Dr. (Hon) Jonathan L. Parapak, M.Eng.Sc stated, “I hope that good education at UPH can be enjoyed by everyone, not only by those who are affluent, but also to those who have limitations.” He also added, “One of the UPH commitments is that every scholarship is available for each level of education and UPH opens the access for children who are ready for it.” The event was held on Thursday, October 13, 2011 and attended by more than 70 participants.
