On Thursday, November 17, 2011, Faculty of Business in cooperation with Banten Directorate General of Taxation held a general lecture entitled the Analysis of Taxation Case in Indonesia at D501, UPH Lippo Village. This lecture is open to public and free of charge. Approximately 270 participants attended the two-hour lecture. As tax center was established at UPH last August, Banten Directorate General of Taxation trained the UPH students to be more knowledgeable in taxation field. This time, Head of Banten Directorate General of Taxation Drs. Muhammad Haniv, AK, M.S. explained how the tax office improved the trust of taxpayers and reformed the bureaucracy in order to gain that trust. ?This year, approximately 80 percent of the state income comes from taxpayers. An independent survey stated that the taxpayers? level of trust keeps increasing each year,? he explained. He also mentioned that from tax, the state could provide free education, free health care, subsidized fuel, and many more. ?This year, the state prioritizes education. Next year, the state is going to buy new armament,? he added. This lecture also reminded the students who in the future would be entrepreneurs to pay tax. ?Paying tax is an obligation to every company,? mentioned Dean of Faculty of Business Dr. Kim Sung Suk. Next year, brevet class is planned to be opened at UPH. (dee) UPH Media Relations |
