UPH Psychology Department held a seminar about Assessment Center Method on Friday, January 27, 2012 inviting psychology students from various universities, such as Maranatha and Universitas Indonesia. Speaker Dra. Christina Irawati Ratna Wardani, M.Psi., Psikolog explained about what assessment center is and how it relates to psychology.

Although the method has been implemented in Indonesia since 1988, apparently there are still many people who do not know what assessment center is. Assessment center does not refer to a location. In fact, it is a procedure used by human resources management for evaluating personnel in terms of human attributes or abilities relevant to organizational effectiveness.

To perform this method, the assessor must follow certain code of conducts. Therefore, among other evaluation methods, assessment center is considered the most objective and effective one. However, it has complicated steps and costs more than other methods.

Besides the explanation about assessment center, this one-day seminar also trained the participants to design the method and understand each of the element needed in the process.

The event was attended by more than 60 people. (dee)
