On Wednesday, April 18th 2012, UPH got a special guest, he is Hirotaka Kawai. Hirotaka Kawai is the third generation of Kawai family, the founder of Kawai Company that produces classic piano originated in Japan.
On Wednesday, April 18th, 2012, UPH welcomed a special guest, Mr. Hirotaka Kawai and his entourage. Mr Hirotaka is the third generation of the Kawai family, founder of Kawai Company, the classice piano producer from Japan. Mr. Kawai visited UPH accompanied by her daughter, Ayako Kawai, and some of the production and sales division staffs for Indonesia. This visit aimed to discuss about mutual relationship between UPH?s Conservatory of Music and Kawai, which had already been discussed on the previous visit.
Mr. Gary Miller as the President of UPH welcomed the representatives of Kawai by commending about Kawai?s reputation which had already been known globally. The meeting continued with the discussion about the plan of mutual relationship between UPH and Kawai. ?Kawai has a factory in Indonesia. If it is possible, Kawai also will provide educational program in Indonesia?, said Ichiro Matsuda as the Director of PT. Kawai Indonesia. Mr. Gary Miller welcomed the plan well, due to Conservatory of Music UPH also used that company?s products. ?A hundred percent classic piano that we use in Conservatory of Music UPH is Kawai?s product?, said Ms. Kazuha Nakahara as the Head of Piano Program.
?UPH has conservatory of music and now UPH is improving the conservatory of music. Our main goal is to produce an excellent quality musician in Indonesia. By organizing this partnership, Kawai does not only cooperate with UPH, but even with Indonesia?, said Mr. Gary Miller. With regards to the statement, Mr. Ichiro Matsuda also said that Kawai wanted to develop their music schoolin Indonesia. ?We should learn more about Indonesian system?, he said.
This meeting was not the first one, as Ayako Kawai had visited UPH on January. ?Today?s meeting is the continuation of the previous meeting to discuss about UPH and Kawai mutual relationship. Kawai hope through this cooperation, UPH will be able to support the educational program that Kawai is trying to develop in Indonesia. The cooperation for instance, to recruit UPH?s Conservatory of Music graduates to teach in Kawai?s music school. While UPH might benefit in a maintenance program given by Kawai ?, Mr. Matsuda continued. A guided campus tour took place after the meeting has been done, including a visit to the Conservatory of Music at Building B. (ft)
