| One of Hospitour 2012 programs which tookplace on April 26, is Making Bed Competition. The competition is followed by hospitality students from some of the Hospitality Institute, including Trisakti, Sahid, Bogor Hotel Institute and others. Although the competition seems simple, but fun and quite exciting. Participants were asked to prepare a bed in less than 7 minutes. The scoring points are speed, neatness and precision of bed making techniques, as the theory has been obtained in the classroom.
The judges for these competition were the Executive Housekeeper from the Peninsula Hotel and Aryaduta Hotel. The winners both were come up from STP Trisakti, with less than 4 minutes and 6 minutes 38 seconds. On the same day, also held workshops for SMK Pariwisata Gema Gewita, Banten. The students are taught how to use the Fidelio software for ticket reservations and other applications. “That was helpful. We can practice the theory given in class, “says Aprilia, students in 3th grade of SMK Gema Gewita. Nanda her colleagues, adding, “At this event we learned a lot, besides Fidelio, we could see the bed making competition, and how to arrange the dishes.” A group of high school students who were also present on this day is from Athalia High School, BSD. About 50 students joint in campus tour and also had the opportunity to watch the various events and competitions, held by STPPH students. For some students who are interested in joining the hospitality says that they more interested in that major. “Especially after seeing the facilities and activities are provided in STPPH, I became more interested,” said one of Athalia student.
