Short Film Production Workshop, ?? really excited!?.

?Besides learning a new theory, we also got a chance to play some roles, make the naration of the short film, and take the picture using a camera?, Diva added, a student from SMA Madani.

?Learning about film production, wow? I am really excited. I got an assignment to make a film in English from my school, but I just understand how to make it just now, after participating in this workshop. I learned a lot from this workshop and I got various tips, such as wideshoot camera technique and many more?, said Renaldo, a student from SMA Kasih Karunia, Cengkareng. ?Besides learning a new theory, we also got a chance to play some roles, make the naration of the short film, and take the picture using a camera?, Diva added, a student from SMA Madani.

Those comments represented other students who were really excited to have a chance to participate in Short Film Production Workshop, which was held by TV Club by Communication Science students of FISIP UPH. The workshop, which was held on Thursday (10/5), from 10 am until 5 pm, was enthused by the participants. All of the participants were enthusiastic and actively participated during the training.

The participants were surprised to have this training. The demand about the next training was even conveyed by the companion teachers. ?I expect there are film editing training. It really supports extracurricular activities at our school, C2K (Club Computer Kesatuan). Editing film on computer also included in this extracurricular activity?, said Mr Rahman, the companion teacher from SMA Kesatuan, Bogor.

According to Sigit Pamungkas, Manager of FISIP UPH Laboratory, this workshop was routinely held as the form of community service. ?Through this activity, we try to give the students knowledge how about the proccess to make a short film, which is a part of Broadcasting knowledge in Communication Science major?, Sigit said. The material which was given to the participants were 80% practical and 20% theory.

Some techniques that were directly practiced were dialog and non-dialog scene simulation, to train the students to convey messages not only by words, but also through expression. The participants also asked to develop their idea to be a short movie. The most interesting part was when the participants got an opportunity to use the camera. ?Wow, this is an unpredictable experience for me to use a camera with the right technique?, said a participant.

On the last session, the short movie which was made by the participants in group, was presented and commented by the instructor team. ?We strive so that these production results could be procceed and uploaded on YouTube, so the participants could watch their work?, said Diana, one of the instructor at TV Club FISIP UPH.
