UPH Alumnus? and Students? Works Appear at CASA By BRAVACASA Exhibition

CASA by BRAVACASA 2012 was a prestigious design exhibition held by Bravacasa Magazine. This exhibition was held for the third time since 2010. Located at Ballroom The Ritz Carlton Hotel Pacific Place, Jakarta, CASA by BRAVACASA not only indulged the visitors with qualified interior works, but also showed other art works such as paintings and product designs.

For interior products, CASA by BRAVACASA showed qualified and fascinating products in the form of diorama home, which were made by 6 well-known Indonesia interior designers, consisted of Hidayat Endramukti, Suyin Pramono, Roland Adam, Alex Bayu, Diana Nazir, and Desainer Interior Muda Mendesain (DIMM).

DIMM itself was a creative community consisted of the young interior designers, pioneered by 4 young interior-architects, who also alumnus of Faculty of Design and Planning UPH, they are Ibam Arafi Bastaman, James Laksmana, Grace Hartanti, and Ellyana Tse. DIMM tried to embrace young professional Indonesian interior designer and its supporting elements as such as universities and design Industry. In CASA by BRAVACASA, DIMM participated through their diorama works that used colorful strings. Those strings separated 2 different interior concepts in one room.

Although it used the name of ?young interior designers?, but DIMM?s work was appeared along with other experienced interior designer, such as Diana Nazir, Alex Bayu, ID 12+, Suyin Pramon, etc.

Not only the alumnus, the students of UPH Product Design Department also showed their works in this exhibition. At the young-designer spot, these students greeted the visitors who interested with their works friendly. ?Today the visitors are more crowded, because today is the last day,? said Nathalisa, a students whose work was showed. ?The works here are basically just to be exhibited, because these are just the prototype. But we are widely opened if the visitors want to buy our products. They could contact the creator of the works they are interested with. Fortunately, we are also encoraged that in this exhibition, we have to be ready if our works are demanded,? Nathalisa continued.

By getting an opportunity to participate in this prestigious event, hopefully it could encourage other product design students to keep creating and actively participating in other art events. (ft)
