Grand Opening Miss UPH Scholar 2013: The Beauty that Lies Within

Last Monday (22^nd January 2013), located in front of Plaza D Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH), there was Grand Opening of Miss UPH Scholar 2013. This event aimed to publish and remarked the open enrollment for every UPH students who want to participated in beauty, brain, and behavior competition, Miss UPH Scholar 2013. This year, they picked ?The Beauty that Lies Within? as the main theme for the whole program of Miss UPH Scholar 2013.

The event supposed to start on 13.00, but due to bad weather, the event began on 13.00. But, the crowd of audience and festive of the event shown that this event has been succeed. The event began with Dance Ball by MUS 2013 Committee, then continued with dance show by MUS 2012 Finalists. As the official remarks of the beginning of MUS 2013, UPH Rector, Jonathan L. Parapak, Vice President for Student Development and Spiritual Formation, Kirk Kauffeldt, representative of Executive Student Board UPH, Jennnifer Terisno (Food Technology 2010), and Valerie G. Tahar, head committee of MUS 2013 (Interior Design 2011) cut the ribbon and give welcoming speech to audiences, followed by beating gongs by UPH Rector, Jonathan L. Parapak.

Then, the event continued by the performances by MUS 2012 Finalists, Deasy Juwita, as vocal, Sheilla Natasya as pianist, and Iwa as violist. There?s also an interview with Miss UPH Scholar 2012, Angelia Wangkar (Medicine 2009) about her experiences during MUS quarantine and afterwards.
