The Law School of Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) conducted the annual academic program, High School Summer Law Program (HSSLP) again on last June 17-27 this year.

The Law School of Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) conducted the annual academic program, High School Summer Law Program (HSSLP) again on last June 17-27 this year. The program is part of UPH?s ardor to prepare students in choosing right major in line with their interest. The participants range from age 14 to 18, coming from various senior high schools. Students joining are those who passionate on social sciences particularly in law, international trade and business.
In the HSSLP, there were 15 professionals coming from law firms and World Trade Organization (WTO) to deliver the classes. This program, which was divided into two levels (basic and advanced), also involved 16 mentors of senior Law School who joined and won many of international competitions, to lead daily students? moot preparation. This year 44 students joined HSSLP. Amongst them were national and international students.
During the program, the students were given well-constructed modules and partake in Moot Court Simulations for their final. In class learning allows them to absorb idea of basic law study. Meanwhile, simulation gave students excitements and equips them with confidence in public arguing. Students were encouraged to participate actively in every session to acquire most of the lesson taught. This was conducted through social session in lunchtime, when all participants, mentors, and teachers had get-to-know time. Students even got through to the mentors off class to prepare their final arguments.
In other words, HSSLP equip students with a set of experience thus ready to face real campus environment. Students? interest in this peculiar field were also polished, give them better understanding of the law study.
