Department of Student Development gave a brief lecture about social study at UPH Festival 20. Speaker Roy Rondonuwu from student life prepared several topics about social life in college world. Roy told what things that usually change after becoming a university students, especially concerning independent living.

In his lecture, there are several points that need to be done in order to become a winning individual both academically and non-academically like competency development or emotional and attitude management. Besides that, different from high school period, university students need to be independent in various aspects, particularly in taking care one self. ?You have to be able to maintain the purity of your heart and yourself, especially for female students,? explained Roy. Meanwhile for male students, Roy reminded them to control theirselves and to protect their fellow female students. ?It is okay to have a romantic relationship. College period is the exact time to do that,? he said. ?Having a relationship could develop the maturity in social relation, but it must be conducted in a healthy way,? he added amidst students? laughter to the previous comment. Furthermore, students were encouraged to begin building their identity, determining the target of life, and building the integrity started from the moment they enter the college world.

The student development program is a part of the holistic education that is being applied in UPH, where students are not only learn knowledge but also faith and character development.
