UPH Faculty of Law Jessup Team Won Three Awards in National Round

On February 8, 2014, the 6 students competed against 17 teams that were sent by universities from all over Indonesia and also 11 observer teams were watching the competition progress.

UPH Faculty of Law Jessup Team once again participated in Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition ? National Round. This year national round, UPH Jessup Team 2014 consisted of 6 students: Nathania Carrisa Hendarta, Dinna Margaretha Gozali, Astrid Desmonda, Andrew Marsha Mulia, Paras Suresh Punjabi, and Sabrina Wirawendra Kusumoprojo.

On February 8, 2014, the 6 students competed against 17 teams that were sent by universities from all over Indonesia and also 11 observer teams were watching the competition progress. In the preliminary round, UPH had to face off 4 teams: Universitas Brawijaya from Malang, Universitas Airlangga from Surabaya, Universitas Tarumanegara from Jakarta and Universitas Udayana from Bali. The competition was quite intense and by the end of, at night, came the announcement of the top 8 teams that could proceed to the next round. From the preliminary round, UPH emerged with 1 st position at hand.

The next day round (9/2), quarter final, 1 team would be decided as the winner and will represent Indonesia to the International round. In this round, UPH once again encountered Universitas Airlangga and then continued the competition with Universitas Parahyangan. Both of these universities could not stop UPH progression, thus, UPH and Universitas Indonesia (UI) earned the ticket for advancing to the final round. Unfortunately, UPH team had to stop its advance after UI was crowned as the winner of the 2014 Jessup Moot Court Competition.

Even though UPH team did not bring the champion title home, students had successfully achieved many awards. Among them are ?First Runner Up?, ?Best Memorial Award? and one of UPH team members, Dinna Margaretha Gozali, was awarded with ?Third Best Oralist Award?.
