Dies Natalis UPH : 20 Years of Serving Indonesian Education

On September 27th 2014, UPH celebrated 20th Dies Natalis. The gratitude worship and celebration was held in Grand Chapel UPH which attended by more than 3000 participants from internal UPH and also colleagues of university, government officials,

 

Dr. James Riady, the founder of UPH, conveyed his message in Celebration of 20th Dies Natalis UPH.

 

On September 27th 2014, UPH celebrated 20th Dies Natalis. The gratitude worship and celebration was held in Grand Chapel UPH which attended by more than 3000 participants from internal UPH and also colleagues of university, government officials, and community leader. The theme of this event is ?Telling His Story? (tell about God?s works) which taken from Psalm 78:4. This theme was presented in all series of event which occurred with wisdom and magnificent through music and praise from 280 members of choir and orchestra from staff and UPH students which conducted by Dean of UPH Conservatory of Music, Antonius P. Sugeng.

Rector of UPH, Jonathan L. Parapak, conferred the degree of Doctor Honoris Causa to Ir. Johannes Oentoro, Ph. D., who was represented by Mrs. Santy Oentoro and witnessed by Dr. James T. Riady, Founder of UPH, and Raymond Liu, President of UPH.
 

In this 20th Dies Natalis UPH celebration, The Deans conducted the groundbreaking which symbolized vision and mission from every faculty and complied into a single unit which support vision of UPH, those are to become an institution which focused on Christ for superior high education, holistic and transformational, that will create the competence and professional leaders which complete by true knowledge, faith in Christ, and Godly Character.

In that event, Rector of UPH, Jonathan L. Parapak, conferred the degree of Doctor Honoris Causa to Ir. Johannes Oentoro, Ph. D., for his dedication and works in education field. Then, the event was continued by launching the book of 20 years of UPH titled ?Light and Hope: Transformational Impact in Christian Higher Education.? UPH Rector, Jonathan L. Parapak said that UPH always try to be a blessing for Indonesia society by giving the best education.

Story of 20 years of UPH served education in Indonesia would be always socialized along 2014 to wider community through some programs, such as graduation, UPH festival, faculty introduction by Dean in Dean?s talk, community service activity, and parents gathering. These programs are expected can make public receive the message of God?s promises and helps for education in Indonesia over UPH.(rh/vre)
