St. Paul University Visited  Faculty of Psychology of UPH

On Tuesday, October 28, 2014, the Faculty of Psychology of UPH welcomed students and faculty of St. Paul University, Manila, Philippines.

On Tuesday, October 28, 2014, the Faculty of Psychology of UPH welcomed students and faculty of St. Paul University, Manila, Philippines. The delegation consisted of 25 students from the Department of Psychology, one student from Department of Communication, one student from the Department of Education, Dr. Pricila Marzan, Chair of Psychology Department, College of Arts and Sciences and Dr. John Infante Jr., Dean of the College of Education.

 

Their arrival was greeted by Ruth Sumule, Chairman of the Department of Psychology of UPH and some lecturers of the Faculty of Psychology of UPH. The visit itself aims to exchange information about psychology education in Indonesia, particularly in UPH and also to learn the cultural differences.

 

On the arrival at the main campus of UPH, delegations of St. Paul University were immediately invited to tour the campus to see the campus environment and the learning facilities.  They were very impressed to see the beautiful UPH campus atmosphere with shady trees, a very adequate facilities and non-smoking campus slogan is actually implemented in a campus environment.

After touring the campus, they all attended a presentation about the Faculty of Psychology in UPH by Ruth Sumule. In her presentation, Ruth identifies the uniqueness of the Faculty of Psychology in UPH as the integration of science with the Christian faith. She also explained the concentrations and the learning process.

 

 

In the question and answer session, the students of St. Paul University asked about how the psychology of learning systems in UPH and psychology development in Indonesia. Dr. Pricilla Marzan, Chair of Psychology Department of St. Paul University, is also interested in programs held by the Faculty of Psychology of UPH and hope in the future may enter into an agreement such as the exchange of students and lecturer, and also conduct joint research.
