UPH Career Expo 2015

UPH Career Center held another Career Expo 2015 which was participated by more than 50 companies. Career expo was held over two days on February 13-14, 2015 and was attended by nearly 1,300 visitors. Companies from various fields participated in this exhibition, such as PT. Lippo Karawaci Tbk, PT. Bank Central Asia Tbk, PT. Mitra Adi Perkasa, PT. Maxx Prima Pasifik, PT. Cinemaxx Global Pasifik, PT. Gunung Sewu, PT. Ultra Prima Abadi (Orang Tua Group), Sinar Mas, and many more.

This event, which is held on a regular basis, is expected to facilitate UPH graduates to be absorbed in the professional world and to help companies participating in the exhibition in hiring qualified employees who fit the criteria required. Through this Career Expo, companies did not merely open recruitments for various positions, but there were also various fast track programs such as Manager Trainee and internship program for final year students.

What is interesting in this year?s Career Expo was that some of the company?s representatives attending the exhibition were actually UPH alumni. It also became one of the charms for final year students and alumni of UPH to try and apply to those companies.

The visitors visited Sinar Mas Booth

One of them was Anne Darmawan, Recruitment Manager of Sinar Mas, she expressed her impression participating in this exhibition. “I am glad to be back to UPH. It feels like home. In terms of quantity, there are less visitors compared to the exhibition at another place, but we are satisfied in terms of quality because the ones who come and apply here are the really qualified ones. There are actually a lot of students and alumni of UPH who have already joined with Sinar Mas and I am one of them, I really like the culture in Sinar Mas. Hopefully, in the future we can participate again because we can see the enthusiasm of the visitors here to apply to Sinar Mas,” said Anne.

The exhibition was also open to the public. One of the visitors of Career Expo 2015 was Kartika, an alumni of Beijing Normal University. “This Career Expo is very useful, especially for me, a graduate from foreign university. It makes it so much easier to get to know and apply in the best companies in Indonesia. In addition, I can explore what kind of job fits me well”, said Kartika.

“I think an event like this is very useful and should be established in a regular basis because it helps us, especially the alumni, to find a suitable job,” said Patricia, Alumni of Communication Studies, 2010. (ca)
