Suasana Workshop Draw Like Jack Hamm

The Visual Communication Design department (VCD) of UPH held a dual workshop program with the titles: ?Introduction to Animation? and ?Draw Like Jack Hamm? for High School students grade 10, 11 and 12. The program was held in two sessions, on March 13 and 20, 2015, and aimed to explain the courses offered in VCD to students who are interested in enrolling to this department. In the workshop session delivered by Naldo Yanuar Heryanto, S.Sn., M.T., and Donny Ibrahim, S.S., M.I.Kom., lecturers in the VCD Department of UPH, the students were taught the techniques of drawing and animation. The students were delighted to discover that by understanding and applying the techniques, it became very easy to create the animation. After the students had opportunity to create animations by using the techniques they had learned, the differences were clear between the images in which the techniques were applied and were not.

There were approximately 72 students for Session 1 from SMK Strada Daan Mogot, SMK Setia Bakti, SMA Citra Kasih, SMA Marsudirini Bogor, UPH College and SMAK Penabur Gading Serpong, and 70 students for Session 2 from the Multimedia Classes of SMK Buddhi. To cap off the workshops, the students toured around the UPH campus to learn more about the facilities.(fc)

?It was so good to introduce lectures since grade 10 as they are in the phases to find out their talent in what areas and departments what they would take later on.
