UPH Business Schools Wins Third Place on HSBC Business Case Competition 2015

HSBC Business Case Competition is an annual competition held by HSBC in Indonesia and all over the world. This competition?s objective is to sharpen the analytical and critical thinking as well as creativity of young generations by solving various business cases. This year, HSBC set out a new rule where each university was required to send off only one team.

 

 

UPH sent off one team consisted of Nerissa Pamela (Accounting 2012), Johana Josodipuro (Management 2013), Wren Hernando (Management 2013) and Thelma Kisela (Management 2013). This team was mentored by Rita Nainggolan, UPH Business School lecturer and Patricia S.E., M.M., Deputy Department Chair of Accounting, Business School.

 

 

On 11 April 2015, the preliminary round was held to find the best three out of 18 teams to be qualified on the final round. This round was in the form of problem solving for business cases and to give solutions and recommendations related to the issues in those cases. At the end of the preliminary round, UPH team was then announced to be qualified as big three and would compete on the final round.

 

 

The final round was held on 13 April 2015 at Merchantile Athletic Club, Jakarta. The competition systematic on the final round was similar to the preliminary round where the participants must give solutions for the business cases given. Eventually, UPH successfully achieved the third place on HSBC Business Case Competition 2015 while Binus International and Prasetya Mulia won the first and second place.(fc)
