On 12 May 2015, UPH International Office hosted an early dinner for the two institutional partner of UPH which are Corban University and Covenant College.
On 12 May 2015, UPH International Office hosted an early dinner for the two institutional partner of UPH which are Corban University and Covenant College. The purpose of this event was to strengthen the fellowship between UPH and the students, lecturers, and professors from both universities.
In the middle of the year, during the university?s summer break in US, the students from UPH partners come and visit Indonesia as a part of the summer program. As the partner, UPH becomes the host of events under UPH and YPPH. This early dinner event was held as a farewell for Corban University, who had finished the programs at UPH on 4-13 May 2015, and at the same time, welcoming the group of Covenant College who will experience the programs at UPH for three week on 12-29 May 2015.
The Corban University group consisted of four students from School of Education and a professor as their supervisor, Mr. Jesse Payne. During 10 days of their stay at UPH and did several activities, in which during five days, the four students taught at the Sekolah Lentera Harapan (SLH) Curug.
Meanwhile, the Covenant College group consists of 20 students from various majors who take Global Trend class and two professors from Dr. Daphne Haddad and Dr. Phil Horton. Several activities at UPH will be their class assignment. This group also will make a trip to Kota Tua, Museum of Bank Indonesia, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah and Yogyakarta as a part of Cultural Immersion in Indonesia. They will also interact with the students of Teacher College (TC) UPH with the cultural events and MYC Monthly Gathering.
There were approximately 40 students in this early dinner, Rector of UPH, Dr. (Hon) Jonathan L. Parapak, M.Eng.Sc., Vice President for Academic Affairs, Connie Rasilim, S.S,m B.Ed, M.Pd., Vice President for Marketing, External Affairs, Business Development, Budi Legowo, Senior Advisor, Dr. Bethany J. Schuttinga, UPH lecturers and staffs, lecturers and students of Covenant College and Corban University. (fc/el)
