Exactly 1036 graduates out of 1142 students who have succesfully passed the judicium on the even semester of academic year 2015/2015 were graduated on the UPH Graduation XXVII, Saturday, 13 June 2015 at the Grand Chapel UPH Karawaci. The graduates consisted of 76 Diplomas (D4), 900 Bachelor degrees, 164 Master degrees and 2 Doctoral degress. Among the graduates, there were 162 teachers, 94 Bachelor of Medicine degrees and 62 Bachelor of Nursing degrees.
In this judicium, there were 6 Summa Cum Laude graduates, 32 Magne Cum Laude graduates and 159 Cum Laude graduates. The highest Grade Point Average (GPA) was earned by Agus Imam Santoso, Doctor of Law with GPA 3,99. For the highest GPA for Master program was obtained by Michael Alexander from Master of Law program with GPA of 3,90 and Bachelor degree by Jovian from Management major with GPA of 3,92.
In his remark, Rector of UPH, Dr. (Hon) Jonathan L. Parapak, M.Eng.Sc., stated that UPH is committeed to keep improving the quality in each and every process of education as well as motivating students to aim higher. Inline with that statement, UPH Graduation XXVII came with the theme entitled ?Reaching Higher? to inspire the graduates to achieve higher. The Rector reminded the challenges graduates would face, fast-paced changes and crisis in every aspect of life.
?You are commissioned to be the agent of transformation who will bring the light into the world. This nation is missing a leader figure who is not only smart, but also owns integrity. Therefore, we hope the graduates could bring changes and keep inspiriting the vision of UPH,? uttered Rector.
In this opportunity, the Executive Secretary of Kopertis III, Putut Pojogiri, S.H., delivered his message to the graduates. It was stated that Kopertis hopes UPH is ready to implement the National Standar of Higher Institution as mandated by the government, even to be ready to compete with other higher academic institutions in ASEAN. He explained that the tough competition to enter the professional world for the fresh graduates is the responsibility of all. ?UPH has the standard of higher institution to be able to improve quality to compete in the era of AEC,? he added.
The special message for graduates was also delivered by James T. Riady, Founder of UPH. He emphasized that the graduates need to have clear purposes of life. He hopes that UPH could be the campus where the generations obtain new faith based on the right understanding of God so it could form the right character for the graduates.
The graduation ceremony took place in orderly manner in two sessions at 8-12 am and at 1-4 pm, was attended by more than 3000 attendees. (rh/el)
