On Tuesday, June 16th 2015, UPH welcomed a visit of Institut Teknologi Del (IT Del) North Sumatera.
On Tuesday, June 16th 2015, UPH welcomed a visit of Institut Teknologi Del (IT Del) North Sumatera. IT Deal is the development of Politeknik Informatika Del (PI Del) that was established on 2001 by Del Foundation. The initial purpose of Del Foundation was to provide access of high quality education to the remote areas, especially for limited financial students with academic achievements. IT Del campus is located at the edge of Lake Toba within 400 km from the city of Medan. IT Del has 3 faculties, which are Faculty of Information and Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Industrial Technology, and Faculty of Biotechnology.
The IT Del team consisted of Prof. Dr. Roberd Saragih, M.T., Rector, accompanied by Dr. Arnaldo M. Sinaga, S.T., M.InfoTech., Vice President 1 for Academic Affairs, Dr. Yosef Manik, Vice President 2 for Finances and Resources and Dr. Merry M. Martgrita, Dean of Faculty of Biotechnology.
The team was welcomed at the Rectorate Office by Dr. (Hon) Jonathan L. Parapak M. Eng. Sc., Rector of UPH, along with other UPH Rectorate and the faculties, such as Prof. Adrianus Mooy, Senior Advisor, Connie Rasilim, S.S., B.Ed, M.Pd, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Budi Legowo, Vice President for Marketing, External Relations and Business Development, Dr. Helena Margaretha, M.Sc., Associate Dean of Faculty of Science and Technology (FaST), as well as several FaST lecturers.
This visit was intended in order to probe the partnership between two parties in the aspect of education development, research, and community service. Specifically, the partnership covers the development of human resources, joint research in science and technology, sharing knowledge/sharing expert, the exchange of information and publication, and the use of shared facilities.
Rector of IT Del hopes that this partnership to be realized in near future. ?Probably, in the form of guest lecturers to hold classes in our place for some time. Just like what other universities have been doing, or a joint research,? uttered Prof. Robert.
After welcoming by the Rectorate, the IT Del team paid a visit to several facilities of FaST Lab as well as the research center of Mochtar Riady Institute for Nanotechnology (MRIN) which is at the same location with the UPH Faculty of Medicine and Siloam Hospital. (rh/el)
