Closing the academic year of 2014-2015, Department of Art held several Art events such as Light of My Life, on June 9-11, 2015, at Exhibition Room, Building D Lobby, UPH. Light of My Life is a photography exhibition by the members of Photography Art (PART).
The Art events have a purpose to strengthen the togetherness of Department of Art?s big family and to inspire UPH and also external public.
On June 16, 2015, Movie Production Club of Department of Art held Mind Artitude, a Short Movie Screening with Psychological Thriller theme. The movies themselves were created by UPH students in collaboration with Institut Kesenian Jakarta (IKJ) and were shown at Blitzmegaplex Teras Kota-BSD. There were three Short Movies with 20 minutes duration each movie. The movie titles are Pseudo, directed by Nilam Aulia, Truth, directed by Owen Prasetya, and Hindsight, directed by Arthur Argantara. These movies were intended to share some moral values and lessons about one?s psychological state. Thus, academic values can be learned through these movies.
On June 17, 2015, in relation to Mind Artitude Movie Production, Department of Art was visited by a couple of Indonesian actors such as Darius Sinathrya, Teuku Rifnu Wikana, and others. These actors shared about Movie Production in a workshop at MYC Multipurpose Room, UPH, collaborating with BEM-UPH and Department of Art. The participants were taught directly by the professionals on how to produce a movie, start from casting to shooting. Following up the workshop, a casting was held on 18 June in order to find 9 characters and 2 supporting characters of Darius Sinathrya?s first movie as a producer, entitled Night Bus. This event gathered a very positive feedback from students who are interested in entertainment, proven by the number of participants of workshop and casting sessions, which reached 100 people.
The collection of events was closed with Art Celebration held on June 24, 2015 at Department of Art UPH tribune, where all the Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa (UKM) under Department of Art, such as Art Band, Light House Singers, Spirit Dance Company, UPH Choir, and others gathered together and performed. Yonny Boy Jaya Marpaung, Department of Art Manager said that this celebration was held with the purpose to unite all the Art UKM, so that they can support each other, keep on achieving in each field, and bring pride to Department of Art, UPH, and Indonesia.(fc/nn)
