On Thursday, August 20, 2015, UPH Festival day 2 was started with Devotion in each faculty, and continued by faculty orientation. On Devotion day 2, the new students were listening to the spiritual message from Dr. Richard L. Pratt, President of Third Millennium Ministry through video entitled ?Faith in Christ?, the second pillar of UPH vision.
In relation to the theme of UPH Festival 22 ?Grow Deeper?, Dr. Richard shared that every student must grow more deeply in faith to Christ. UPH is a high quality institution that commits to provide true knowledge based on each field and guide the students to deeper faith growth. Nowadays, many education institutions state that faith or religion do not have anything to do with knowledge. ?In UPH, you will meet people with different perspectives. We believe that the true faith, which is in Jesus Christ can give you strength in your academic life,? said Dr. Richard.
After listening to Dr. Richard?s message, the students were given explanation from the dean of the faculty about the second pillar of UPH vision, which is ?Faith in Christ? and its relation to academic field based on each faculty. This session aims for the students to know the role of faith in the process of learning that they will face in UPH.
The event was continued with faculty orientation, which contained introduction to faculty programs and activities.
Introduction to laboratory practice program of STPPH Vincentius Nonot Yuliantoro, MM. ?Studying in STPPH laboratory has its own rule. Students must be fast in adaptation to campus life. Let us learn to appreciate ourselves, to be discipline, to be honest, and to be responsible. For the example, if there is breakage in laboratory facilities or equipment, students must report it and be responsible of the consequences,? he stated. (nn)
