UPH Secures the rank 11 of Indonesia most productive PTS in Creating Scientific Papers based on SCOPUS

Based on that investigation, since August 7, 2015, UPH as a private university has been on the rank 11 of the most productive from approximately 4000 private universities in Indonesia.

 
 

 

SCOPUS is an international publication indexing database and managed by Elsevier BV, the biggest world?s publisher. Prof. Hendra Gunawan, a math lecturer in ITB tried to investigate the SCOPUS data and form a rank of Indonesian universities and research institutions based on the productivity of the scientific papers indexed in SCOPUS. The investigation result has been published in his personal website http://personal.fmipa.itb.ac.id/hgunawan/2015/01/28/50-perguruan-tinggi-indonesia-paling-produktif-menurut-scopus-2015/ which consists of Indonesia top 50 universities (and research institutions) based on most productive scientific publication.

 

Based on that investigation, by August 7, 2015, UPH as a private university has been on the rank 11 of the most productive from approximately 4000 private universities in Indonesia.  Meanwhile, in national level, which includes public universities and research institutions, UPH has secured the 37th rank.

 

Based on SCOPUS? record on August 29, 2015, UPH has 103 scientific papers indexed in SCOPUS. From the total amount, Electrical Engineering Department contributes 43 papers, which is 42%, where students contribute in more than half of the total amount. This means that Electrical Engineering is the most productive department in UPH based on the articles in SCOPUS. The papers by UPH Electrical Engineering academicians have got 84 citations from international science community. From the 43 journals, 18 of them (42%) are the articles in international journals, which have the impact factor and so indexed in Thomson Reuters’ Web of Science as well. In 2015 alone, UPH Electrical Engineering, which is accredited for A by BAN-PT, scored 3 international journal articles in SCOPUS, where one of them is the extension of student’s thesis work.

 

The SCOPUS record shows that Dr. Reinhard Pinontoan, Biotechnology lecturer is the co-author of the most cited article (163 citations out of the total of 362 citations of UPH articles). Dr. Marincan Pardede, Electrical Engineering lecturer, is the one who contributes as co-author of the most journal articles (12 articles). Dr. Henri Uranus, Electrical Engineering lectureris the co-author of highest number of articles (journals and conference papers) with 5 journal articles and 16 scientific conference papers.

 

Followings are several journal articles by UPH indexed in SCOPUS:

 

A scientific paper in Journal of Applied Physics, Vol. 117 by Dr. Marincan Pardede (Electrical Engineering lecturer) with collaborators from various universities at Maju Makmur Mandiri Laser Spectroscopy Research Center, Jakarta. Dr. Pardede contributes 12 journal articles for UPH in SCOPUS, as the most journal article contributor.

 

 

The scientific paper by Dr. Reinhard Pinontoan (Biotechnology lecturer) with collaborators from Japan in a high impact factor journal,The Plant Cell that has received 163 citations. This is the most cited scientific paper from UPH academician.

 

 

A scientific paper as the result of final assignment of Electrical Engineering student (Wiwi Samsul) with the thesis supervisors (Dr. Henri Uranus, Electrical Engineering lecturer, and Dr. M. D. Birowosuto, collaborator from LIPI), which is currently queueing for the publishing process in Journal of Optics (published by Springer), 2015. Wiwi Samsul is currently studying for his Doctoral degree in Duke University, United States.
