The Food Explore 8 event officially begins today, on 4-6 November 2015, with the theme ‘Call to Act: A Little Awareness Prevents Future Anxiety’.
A total of 15 food product innovations by UPH Food Technology student are on display at Home Innovations in the courtyard of the building D UPH campus. Generally, the snacks are made using raw materials that have not traditionally been used in its maximum potential. A variety of food including, KamiTea Ice Cream which is ice cream from frangipani, Wotul Cookies made from a combination of rice bran and carrots, lollaly drink made from turnips and ginger extract, and there is also Barj, biscuits made from barley which is commonly used for bird food.
This event was inaugurated by the President of UPH, Raymond Liu Ph.D., and Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology UPH, Prof. Dr. Manlian Ronald A. Simanjuntak, ST., MT., D. Min., Witnessed by the lecturers and students of the Department of Food Technology UPH.
After the inauguration continued with the gong and the ribbon cutting of Home Innovations, as well as a visit to each student?s stand, students who exhibited innovation explain the benefits and process of manufacture of food and beverages, as well as provide samples for tasting by each visitor.
