Four International Relation students of UPH, Lukas Hernandio, Ladi Diandra, Raditya Rahim and Risyad, had the opportunity to attend a lunch invitation held by the Ambassador of United States for Indonesia, Robert O. Blake Jr., on April 1st, 2016 in his private residence.
This opportunity was a form of appreciation, given by Mr. Blake for the International Relation students of UPH, regarding the Standing Ovation event, held on February 23, 2016 at the UPH campus.
Aside from a lunch together, these four students also got the rare opportunity to talk about various topics with Mr. Blake. One of the topics was about the ease of visa-making process for the citizen of Indonesia, who would want to study in America. They talked about the possibility of having more Indonesian people, who are interested to continue their studies in America, if the visa making process was made to be easier.
Aside from that, these International Relation students and Mr. Blake also shared their respective experience in visiting other foreign countries and how do they deliver their perspective, regarding Indonesia.
This opportunity was a very useful and memorable lesson for these four International Relation students of UPH. ?Of course, meeting with such a person with lots of experiences in the International Relation world, such as Mr. Blake, would give us useful and important knowledge. Especially about how are we supposed to make decisions during a conflict and how are we supposed to set aside our personal needs and focus more on the needs of the public,? Raditya explained, representing his friends regarding their experience.
Lucas and his friends also hoped that through this visit, they could bridge the connection and relationship between UPH and the Embassy of the United States of America. They also hoped that with the good relationship that the US had with Indonesia?s Educational Institutions, would allow the citizen of Indonesia, who are interested upon continuing their studies in America, to have an easier access in the future (mt).
