Friday, 20th of May 2016 Universitas Pelita Harapan through Alumni and Corporate Center held ?UPH Alumni Reunion? in Pullman Jakarta Indonesia Thamrin CBD. This event was attended by alumni from all the faculties and all cohorts of UPH.

Through this event all alumni had the chance not only to meet their old friends, but also to recall all the memories and experiences with special people who served the alumni when they were still in the university, such as staff warden, Mrs. Emil Ory Yanne Tinenty who has been working as a warden for nearly 11 years and Admo Giyamo (Mas Gi), Laboratory Assistant from Faculty of Social and Political Science who has been serving UPH students for 17 years.

?I am grateful for being invited in this event, and see all the wonderful alumni of UPH. They surprisingly still remember me, and respect their campus although they have become successful people,? impress Mrs. Emil on this event.

The committees also invited alumni ?Rock stars? to share their career experience as well as their impressions toward UPH. Some of them were Edwin Lau ? Professional Chef and Culinary Consultant, Roberto Saputra ? Chief Brand Officer of PT Smart Telecom, Kinsky Bunyamin ? Marketing Director of Axioo, Oky Andries ? Senior Brand Manager of LUX and Suwandy Lee ? Vice President of HSBC Indonesia. There were also alumni who were asked to share their testimony through videos, because they could not attend this ?UPH Alumni Reunion?, they were Timothius Martin, Head of Online Marketing Matahari Mall.com and Cynthia Tenggara, founder of Berry Kitchen. Both of them shared their testimony through videos which were shown in this reunion event.

In the opportunity of sharing testimony and experience, Edwin Lau, Alumni of STPPH 2000, told his pride of being UPH alumni.

?I see UPH is capable of creating amazing and competent alumni. I personally have received many things through all the process of studying on this campus which could be made as the foundation, moreover all the experiences with the lecturers who taught whole-heartedly. I hope that UPH will continue spreading the powerful spirit,? said Edwin who committed to be ?Healthy Chef? through his consultant company, Healthy Kingdom Community.

The next one was Kinsky Bunyamin, who conveyed her impression of UPH as a campus that is capable to build character from the inner side through all the religious education, and Kinsky thought that such thing does not exist in any other campus.

The event was getting even more interesting with the sharing which was conveyed by alumni of UPH first cohort, Roberto Saputra as the alumni of Industrial Engineering, 1994. He claimed that as the first cohort, he is very proud to see such a significant improvement in UPH.

?UPH today has a lot of wonderful facilities. But if we were talking about years of my study in UPH, honestly I used to be a person who did not have any purpose of life. Being in UPH given me the opportunity to see so many people with different backgrounds and I also learned to be in an organization. Those experiences taught me to keep on dreaming. Keep on dreaming, and as long as we have the passion we will definitely be successful in our own personal definition,? Roberto explained.

?UPH taught me to build networking, build relations with many other people. Education from UPH, and experience in working are what support me to be courageous to build my own company,? revealed Oky who is not only working in Unilever, but also has salon, Chief Barbershop.

The last sharing was by Suwandy Lee who told a story of himself who always tried to be active in any kinds of activities and events when he was still in UPH.

?For me back then it was expensive, so I tried to always use my time maximally. UPH used to have a tagline ?Responsibility Begins with Me?, which inspired me to comprehend responsibility. Everyone including myself, needs to always keep in mind that responsibility comes from ourselves first. Other than that, always do things that you enjoy, and keep craving for education. Education will change the way we think and act,? said Suwandy Lee.
