Communication Student of UPH Successfully Won 4 Categories in UFLL 2016

Eric Wilson, Communication Student of UPH 2013, IMC Concentration, has successfully won four awards in Unilever Future Leaders League or UFLL 2016, held on November 7-12, 2016. Those four awards were 1st Runner Up for National Team (Dove Campaign Case), 1st place for Customer Development, 1st place for Supply Chain and 1st place for Digital Agency Challenge. This competition was held in two locations, Graha Univeler Jakarta and Unilever Megamendung Learning Center.

UFLL is a prestigious competition held by Unilever since 2013. This prominent challenge gave a lot of of business challenge for its participants, such as finance challenge, consumer & market insight challenge, supply chain challenge, customer development challenge and digital agency challenge.

In 2016, UFLL used ?dove hair conditioner? client as a case study. Out of 700 applicants from all over Indonesia, 30 students were chosen to pass the challenge. These students were quarantined and would compete in national championship. The national champion of this competition will represent Indonesia in UFLL Global 2017 in London.

In this competition, participants have to make disruptive marketing campaign which aims to increase market penetration and distribution of dove hair conditioner. Through this competition, these students were given the chance to learn from experienced seniors in Unilever; they were taught how does Unilever ran so systematically, both from is resources as well as its products. 

 

Regardless the prize which was given for the winners, such as trophy, ?Canon? camera, medals, vouchers and also Unilever products, all participants must have gained valuable advantages from this event. Eric himself admitted that this event enabled students to understand the professional world even better; it was also helpful in building networks with friends from various campuses and backgrounds and of course, this competition boost our self ?confidence and improves knowledge.

Aside from benefits, Eric as a representative of UPH also hopes that UPH could be seen as a University with outstanding students.

?I hope that UPH could be seen as a university with outstanding students. And for  UPH?s students,  could also be motivated to join competitions, so that people can see that UPH students are those of quality and creativity,” said Eric.
