Universitas Pelita Harapan?s (UPH) Faculty of Law held a seminar entitled ?Peningkatan Pemahaman Terhadap Sistem Perdagangan Multilateral dalam Kerangka World Trade Organization (WTO)?, on Tuesday (26/5).

Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) welcomes 23 high school teachers of SMA Methodist Medan in Rectorat Office Building A UPH Karawaci on 29 September 2017, which was immediately greeted by Budhi T. Yuwono, Assistant to Rector UPH. This visit aims to get to know how a Christian educational institution can run in the middle of diversity.
Responding to the issue of Christ-centered education, Budhi stated that UPH is now making its position as a university which put Christ as the center of education.

“Through UPH’s vision and mission of True Knowledge, Faith in Christ, and Godly Character, we want to declare our position as an educational institution that is based on Christ.
With this declaration, we expect people to know that we are already focused, even though surely we will go through an uneasy process.
For the information, even though our educational base is based on Christian faith, UPH welcomes students who have faith outside Christian or Catholic.
Indeed, they still need to go through the process of education at UPH and will get the coaching of faith like other Christian or Catholic students, with different material but remain in the corridor of a truth embraced Christian faith, “explained Budhi.

This presentation provides useful feedback and provides input to the teachers. Some participants also asked questions and gave a positive impression. One of them is Jusna, from Methodist 5 High School who is grateful for the scholarship offered by UPH.

?Honestly I am so grateful for the scholarship opportunity that UPH provides for the students. I feel blessed for the efforts from UPH who visited us directly to provide information about UPH and scholarship opportunities. Recently, there are approximately 8 graduates from Methodist 5 who received scholarships at UPH, either those who have graduated or those still studying here. In the future I hope that UPH team can visit Methodist High School in Medan, considering that there are many Methodist High School in Medan, so we want UPH to visit all of them so that this information can be spread to our students,? explained Jusna.

After the Q and A session, the teachers were invited by Marketing and Admission Department team for the campus tour at UPH. Some of the points visited include classrooms and facilities in building B, The Johannes Oentoro Library at building C, building D, STPPH Restaurant, and other facilities. (mt)
