Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH), Lippo Village, Tangerang, Banten, held “The Mission Conference”, which was attended by all UPH staffs, lecturers, and members of The Mission from 7 cities including Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Bali, Medan, Palembang and Manado, as well as public participants from various institutions. A total of 2000 participants attended a conference on “How Then Should We Work” on Saturday, September 9, 2017.
According to the Chairman of ?The Mission Conference?, Raymond Liu, every year UPH holds a conference like this to help entrepreneurs, professionals, and lecturers in the field of education, and staff to gain a broad insight of the family and how to grow in faith.
This time the chosen theme is very relevant to everyday life. That is how we can serve others by doing our best. Raymond Liu emphasized as a Christian and believer, we should know how one works based on the things set forth in the Bible. Believers must have different attitudes with people who have no attitude and faith.
?The faith we have has to have an impact in the workplace, in the way we do business, and so on. It will have an impact on the job, especially in doing business. We hope that through this conference we can renew our commitment to working and doing all our activities ” He said. |

The Mission Conference is an effort to build a balance between work and faith. This conference is expected to give a view of the work goals for each participant in their respective workplaces.
The fifth “Mission Conference” was held to receive a positive response from all participants. According to Raymond Liu, from a conference which already held in previous years, the participants said they got a lot of positive things from speakers. They gain new insight and direction to become a better person.
The positive impression of them was given by Fita, participant of The Mission Conference from Pekanbaru said that she was inspired by the material presented in the conference. She is inspired to do the work as closely as possible and walk according to the word of God.
“The work is to glorify God, not just pastors, but teachers or businessmen as well. With any work I can serve God,” he said. (rh) |
