In order to build alignment between UPH, UPH Family Alumni Association (IKA UPH) and Alumni Association of UPH Study Program (IKA Prodi), on Friday, November 24, 2017 held a “Special Dinner with Dr. (Hon) Jonathan L. Parapak, M.Eng.Sc.” as UPH Rector, at UPH Executive Education Center Lounge, Semanggi, Jakarta.
The event was attended by UPH Rector, head and managers of IKA UPH, head and representative of IKA Prodi, UPH Alumni Center Team, and several invited guests.
In his remarks, UPH Rector conveyed about ONE UPH, unification plan of UPH Lippo Village, STPPH Lippo Village, UPH Surabaya, UPH Medan into one university centered at UPH Lippo Village. This effort aims to improve the quality further, efficiency, and the effectiveness. This unification is expected to make UPH a top Christian university in Asia, even in the world. UPH Alumni Family Association is also expected to synergize with alumni ties all over Indonesia.
Along with the dinner, besides the introduction of the IKA UPH management, there is also a discussion, question and answer session.
The Rector advised the Head of IKA UPH and IKA Prodi that the Alumni Association’s position must be firm, ie not to enter politics because it will disunite. To unite it should be non-political. Universities need inputs that can affect the curriculum of its alumni.
It is a good alumni community if it can bring a contribution back to the alma mater. He also expressed that each Prodi requires input from its alumni to be the currently study program.
One of the representatives of IKA Prodi Doctor of Law, Dr. Susi Susantijo, S.H., LL.M. stated that between the Alma mater and its alumni have strong ties, therefore it should be instilled that if the alma mater is good, then the alumni are also good. Every UPH Alumni definitely become the representatives of UPH, so every action is expected to pay attention to the existing signs. Representatives of Medical IKA Prodi also shared how the management of the independent Alumni Association in terms of funds, and can provide support to the Medical Program.
The Participants were expecting that such events can be held several times a year, as they could discuss, support and strengthen ties and communication between alumni and the university. UPH Alumni Center hopes that between IKA Prodi, IKA UPH, and UPH can establish a good collaboration for the improvement and progress together. (AC) |
