UPH Gives a Warm Welcome to Lumina College Hongkong

As a commitment towards extensively cooperating with leading global universities, UPH establishes a cooperation with Lumina College, a Christian educational institution based in Hong Kong.

This cooperation is established through a visit from Lumina College representatives ? the President and Head of Academic Programs Lumina, Dr. Leung Wing-Tai and Dr. Mak King-Tong, Head of Academic Programs Lumina. Their visit establishes the educational partnership with UPH in several long-distance departments that are accredited by Christian universities in the United States, like Wheaton College, Calvin College, Cairn College, and Asbury College.

Dr. Gunawaty Tjioe, UPH Vice Rector in Academic Affairs, gives Lumina College a warm welcome on behalf of UPH.

She explained that aside from ?Lumina? having the meaning of ?light?, which is quite in-line with UPH?s university name, one of the most important reasons of this partnership is because UPH and Lumina?s visions are in agreement with each other.

?We have also discussed the possibility of a lecturer exchange between UPH and Lumina College, where lecturers will be guest lecturers,? she added.

Lumina College has a commitment to build an intellectual community through collaborating with other leading global Christian universities. In this spirit, Lumina with UPH wants to establish a deeper collaboration to together produce a quality education to prepare future leaders fit for the service of the nation and its people.

In their short visit on December 4-6, 2018, Dr. Leung Wing-Tai and Dr. Mak King-Tong expressed their enthusiasm in establishing an extended partnership with UPH.

In addition to visiting UPH, they also had the chance to visit the schools under YPPH ? SPH, SDH, and SLH, where they are welcomed by School Head Mr. Philip Nash and Associate Head Ms. Aileen Riady of Sekolah Pelita Harapan.
