UPH Teachers College (UPH TC) final year students have finally entered their final moments of college and will soon be sent to schools all over Indonesia under Yayasan Pendidikan Pelita Harapan (YPPH), such as Sekolah Dian Harapan (SDH) and Sekolah Lentera Harapan (SLH). SDH/LH Professional Development and Curriculum Enrichment (PDCE) delivered enrichment classes for the TC graduates before the commissioning ceremony or Commissioning 2015, which will be held at May, 10 2015 in UPH campus. Anggit, one of PDCE SDH/LH team stated that the purpose of these enrichment classes was to prepare and equip these teachers to serve and introduce themselves to the assigned schools.?We?ve researched many schools and looked upon kinds of hardships experienced by the teachers on their first year, thus we tried to train them with cases that have occurred in the past,? Anggit added.

The enrichment classes were given in 4 classes, which was First day of School, an enrichment on how to start the first day of school with introduction and disciplinary application in class, Basic First Aid, is where teachers were taught on how to apply basic first aid when accident occurs, God?s Story, is where teachers were reminded that everything must be Christ centered in their teaching and the last class is an introduction to school curriculum.

The material in each class, was directly given by the representation of PDCE SDH/LH, except for the Basic First Aid class, the first ever material to be taught on this program, PDCE worked with UPH Faculty of Nursing (FON) to deliver the material, led by one of FON lecturers, Roswhita Sitompul, S.Kp., M.Kep., ?This First Aid class is a very essential matter to be taught for a teacher, because children will spend most of their time at school and teacher would be the one who holds the responsibility when a child is in school,? Roshwita stated.
