As a campus with international standard, Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) has several internal organizations and departments which entirely adopt international system, whether in its learning process or ones with purpose of promoting international community in campus. One of them is International Teachers College (ITC), the newest department of UPH where 80% of its students and faculty members are from overseas, and International Community for Students (ICS), an international community at UPH that accommodates both international and local students who are interested in the international atmosphere. Both parties have set the primary mission of the partnership, which is to “provide student a platform where connections happen”. The partnership meeting was led by Bryan Samuel Sauw, President of ICS also a UPH Communication student cohort 2012 and by Jerome Gibran de Jesus the Partnership Coordinator of ITC. Johana Suprapto, Manager of International Office and Shirley Novita Yauwhan, Section Head of International Students, Simon Mulia, Mission Youth for Christ (MYC) Program Development Manager, Mrs. Stephanie Riady, Director of ITC Development, ITC students and ICS’ Board of Director also participated in the meeting.

The outline of ICS-ITC partnership encompasses the ITC students’ orientation on August 2015, trips and events that seek to promote Indonesia’s culture, events to engage the ITC and UPH students from other majors. In light of the partnership, ICS is going to be opening several positions to the students of the International Teachers College to their organizational structure. Several programs that have been agreed to be executed are the sport events, Culture-Fest, welcoming and farewell events with exchange students, trips to local tourism sites, Jakarta city tour, and learning traditional music and dance. “Through the programs of this partnership, it allows both the International and local students ignite long lasting friendships and provide students a cross cultural learning environment while at UPH and Indonesia,” explained Jerome.
