On Saturday, October 10, 2015, at the Graduate campus of UPH Plaza Semanggi in Jakarta, UPH launched a Master?s Program for International Relations (MHI) and will begin in the second semester of 2015/2016 Academic Year.

On Saturday, October 10, 2015, at the Graduate campus of UPH Plaza Semanggi in Jakarta, UPH launched a Master?s Program for International Relations (MHI) and will begin in the second semester of 2015/2016 Academic Year. The launching of MHI program was held together with a seminar titled ?Study Contributions of International Relations in Addressing the Impact of Global Economic Crisis? that presents the speaker, Ambassador Dr. Dino Patti Djalal, Ambassador Prof. Makarim Wibisono, Ph.D., and Prof. Aleksius Jemadu, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Science.
In the launching ceremony, Prof. Aleksius convey the purpose of the opening of the MHI program is that to produce graduates who are able to think strategically and be able to take decisions and make policy. In addition to having a strategic and critical thinking in international relations, graduates are also expected to respond with the proper dynamics of political, economic, and security in the international environment. At the master’s level of studies, the ability to think strategically is needed to repair the nation’s future, especially in foreign relations.
“Because of that, the master?s degree level of learning should be in accordance with the National Standards for Higher Education (SNPT) and the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI). So that the graduates would really answer the needs that exist in the community,” said Prof. Aleksius. Seeing the development of globalization and the free market today, Prof. Aleksius are sure that MHI graduates have promising opportunities in various fields.
Prof. Aleksius also hope that when UPH have plenty of Professors in International Relations already, UPH can open a Doctorate program in International Relations where great ideas can be conceived to contribute to government policy.
The curriculum in UPH Master?s Program in International Relation is designed to address the challenges of the world of work which focuses on foreign relations such as political economy, security and trade. The lecturers are doctoral graduates from both inside and outside the country, as well as professionals in the field of business and government. On the occasion of MHI program launch, Prof. Aleksius introduce some teaching team of MHI UPH that are present, among them: Matthew Armound Nash, Ph.D., Senior Lecturer of HI FISIP UPH; Hadianto Wirajuda, Ph.D., practitioner; Yoseph Djakababa, Ph.D., Director of the Center for Southeast Asian Studies; Ambassador Dinno Patti Djalal, Ph.D .; and Dr. Adriana Elisabeth, M.Sos. Sc, Director of the Center for Political Research, LIPI (rh/Mf)
