Social Science Education

Social Science Education.

Our Social Science Education program equips teachers-in-training with a comprehensive curriculum that focuses on pedagogy, various disciplines under Social Science (Sociology, Anthropology, History, Cultural studies, etc.), as well as the foundation in Christian theology. A mandatory Internship program is integrated into the 7 th semester to give students a practical teaching experience. The aim is to produce Social Science teachers who are competent in teaching this field within the Indonesian cultural context, as well as having transformative and holistic understanding based on the Christian worldview within the framework of the Reformed Theology.

Director of Academic Standards & Head of Study Program Social Sciences

He started to join at Universitas Pelita Harapan as a lecturer in Teachers College since 2007. Achieved Master Degree in Political Science at Universitas Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta. Received scholarship from UPH to continue his study and in 2018, accomplished the doctoral degree from Universitas Negeri Jakarta majoring in Educational Technology.

Social Science Education Student Council.

Social Science Student Council was formed to facilitate all members of the Social Education Study Program through work programs implemented for one year to reach 4C; that is to help students social science education to prepare themselves as prospective teachers who can respond to their vocation as mature Christian teachers, having a character Christ-like character and being an examplary to others, becoming a competent teacher, and have a heart to serve the community around through academic and non-academic activities.
