UPH Enhances International Quality Education Through Partnership with Oklahoma State University.

Ensuring the production of outstanding future leaders is a top priority for Indonesian universities. A concrete step toward achieving this goal is through international collaboration between educational institutions. In pursuit of this objective, Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Oklahoma State University (OSU) from the United States. The MoU signing ceremony took place at the UPH Lippo Village Campus in Tangerang on September 27, 2023.

Through this partnership, UPH and OSU aim to provide high-quality international education to enhance the competitiveness of students in both institutions.

The MoU between UPH and OSU was signed by UPH Rector Dr. (Hon) Jonathan L. Parapak, M.Eng.Sc, UPH Director of Human Resources & Legal Aspects Christine Wijaya, B.A., and OSU Global Associate Provost and Dean Dr. Randy Kluver. The signing ceremony was attended by UPH Global Partnerships & International Office (GPIO) Manager Giovani Prayitno and UPH Deputy Head of Hospitality Management Study Program Jimmy Muller Hasoloang Situmorang, A.Md.Par., B.Sc., M.B.A.

This collaboration encompasses several key aspects, including information and research exchange, curriculum-related collaboration, student exchange, as well as the enhancement of academic staff capacity. Through this partnership, both institutions aim to mutually contribute positively and make a significant impact on the development of education and research on both sides.

Dr. Randy Kluver welcomed this collaboration and stated, “UPH is the top educational institution highly recommended by the Indonesian Embassy in Washington, D.C., USA, to be a partner. UPH has a good reputation, and I am impressed with its vision, the quality of students, and the quality of its faculty. We believe that this collaboration is a great opportunity for our students and faculty.”

Dr. Randy Kluver further hopes that UPH students and faculty can share their insights and experiences, thereby benefiting and enhancing the quality of both OSU students and educators in the future.

Giovani Prayitno, in response to Dr. Randy Kluver, highlighted OSU’s standing as one of the leading public universities in the state of Oklahoma, USA. He expressed that the established partnership is expected to enhance the learning experiences of students.

“We feel honored to establish a partnership with OSU. In the coming years, we hope to initiate the Student Mobility Program, including student exchanges and other faculty programs. UPH faculty members are eager to collaborate with OSU in delivering cross-cultural learning experiences, promoting global education, and addressing global challenges,” he added.

UPH continues to provide high quality and globally relevant education. Through robust international collaborations, UPH ensures that students are thoroughly equipped to face the challenges of the professional landscape. UPH’s educational standards, aligned with international benchmarks, are poised to cultivate future leaders who will make positive and lasting contributions to both society and the nation.
