not with performance metrics or societal labels, but- with the security of being known and entrusted by God. While identity is often shaped by family, community, academics, and appearance, these sources can sometimes fail or disappoint. In contrast, a personal relationship with Christ - “to whom I have believed” - offers the most stable foundation that will never betray them. It reminds students that their worth and purpose come from being created after the image and likeness of God Himself, loved, and called by God.
The theme also aligns with UPH’s institutional vision of being a Christ-centered university rooted in true knowledge, faith in Christ, and godly character. “For I Know to Whom I Have Believed” echoes the mission to develop students holistically - spiritually, academically, and professionally - so they can become God-fearing, competent, and transformative leaders in society. It emphasizes that education at UPH is not just about mastering information, but about walking with the One who gives them the true meaning, worth, purpose, and direction to all aspects of their life.
Finally, this theme serves as a beacon of hope and trust as students embark on their academic and personal journeys. It acknowledges the uncertainties and challenges they may encounter, but also assures them of God’s power to guard, nurture, and fulfill His purpose in them. In a time when the future often feels fragile, this message invites every student to place their confidence in the faithful hands of God - because what He entrusts, He will complete. This is not just a festival theme; it is a life-defining conviction.
