Youth Camp UPH 2019, “Sola Gratia, Saved by Grace”.

“From the beginning, prepare yourself to be touched by God, to be chosen by God, and to be prepared by God. Maybe you don’t know and plan what will you get from Youth Camp, but I believe God will touch your life, and God will prepare you for greater things”, said the Rector of Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH), Dr. (Hon) Jonathan L. Parapak, M.Eng. Sc, in the Opening of Youth Camp 2019, September 20, 2019, at the UPH Campus, Lippo Village. Unlike previous retreats, Youth Camp 2019 with “Sola Gratia: Saved by Grace” as its theme, focuses on young people, especially UPH students. This program aims to encourage growth and unity, and to let students experience a personal encounter with Christ as their Lord and Savior.

“Through this Youth Camp, we would like to remind students, and encourage them to get closer and learn about Jesus as their Savior. We also want them to realize that all the things they have in their life come from the Lord, and not from their strength,” said Olivia Kusuma Wardhani (Accounting UPH, 2017), as the Head of Youth Camp’s 2nd Section.

Aside from enriching students’ spiritual experiences, Youth Camp 2019 also held a two sessions Capita Selecta to ensure that participants are getting all the practical examples they need in order for them to practice it in real life. There are a number of themes for students to choose including, Hedonism, Relationship, No Drugs, and Online Games.

Before heading to the Kinasih Homestead in Bogor, September 21-22, 2019, Youth Camp 2019 was opened with a service themed “In the Beginning”, brought by (name), who encouraged participants to learn to love God, themselves, and their neighbor.

Through Youth Camp 2019, Olivia hopes that the participants may experience the Lord’s presence, His abundant love in their lives, and give themselves to serve the Lord so that His name will be glorified even more.
