Infrastructure), on SILICON 2008, at UPH Karawaci Campus, Thursday, November 13, 2008. This case caused by the developing of IT industry and creative industry. ?This is the probability for the Computer Science students? He said. No wonder if the IT security professional fixed at the high level in the
company.

In working paper which entitled IT Security, Muhammad Salahuddien, one of the EC-Council Instructor, which famous in hack security, described the importance of the role of IT Security Professional. He called the role of IT Security, started from the prevention to the abuse, protect, until restore if there is the damage or problem on the company data. As the addition, nowadays the security guarantee of company data as the standard of a good company. The high need of security in technology shows that the IT application is so close with human life.

Second speaker, Dr.Ir., Benhard Sitohang, Lecturer of School of Electrical Engineering & Informatics, ITB, views IT with the unique point from education. He thinks that if IT now becomes no balance, which IT toward to applied value and forgets the basic value. ?Without the understanding, IT development in Indonesia just follows the pattern of development country. How our country can be prominent in IT if the award of IT understanding is less?? said Benhard.

The most significant essential is the chance of the participant to choose, ?Which one is better??? Basic value as the root in the understanding pattern or applied value which roles in our life.
So that, Computer Science UPH held the workshop which entitled SILICON 2008, can be the forum of idea exchanging, theory, technology, application, observation, as the experience for the observant from academic in the college, practitioner from industry and government in Computer Science and its application.?

Beside these 2 speakers, the seminar also held the Call for Paper workshop which invited from academics, industry, and government. In this workshop, there are 47 papers from any education institutions in Indonesia and Malaysia. After the review process, finally there were 39 papers which were published. Those papers categorized in Electronic Learning Technology, Information System, Data Basis System, Processing system, Intelligence system, Computer networking, computer application in industry, software artificial.

The participants come from industry, government, and the representatives of big universities such as UGM, UI, STTS Surabaya, Dela Sale Manado, Kyungsung University, and Petronas University. The scope of various participants, purposed to get the point view to discuss the IT Indonesia.

?UPH has the supported facilities to grow the practice value of IT. Yet, the fulltime lecturer supported Certified Ethical Hacker who has the competency to share the IT basic understanding, ?said Arnold, Head of Laboratory and Robotics, Computer Engineering UPH, as the Head of SILICON 2008. From this workshop, the society can be participate to build the IT Indonesia with the right choice.
