PT. Matahari Putra Prima Contribute Books to Johannes Oentoro Library

13 books was contributed to The Johannes Oentoro Library ? UPH by PT. Matahari Putra Prima on Tuesday (16/6). These books, written by famous theologians, added the library?s Christian literature collections which now had reach the amount of 2.164 books.

Since it was first established in 2006, The Johannes Oentoro Library has the purpose to make unique its Christian literature section by adding the collection of books written by known theologians such as Jonathan Edwards, John Calvin, Alistair McGrath, Francois Wendel, John Piper, George Marsden, Iain Murray, Donald K. McKim, and many others. This uniqueness also aimed to support UPH?s vision and mission in order to create leaders who have godly character and glorify the Lord.

?The books given are very useful to complete and develop our Christian Literature section. These books fulfill our need,? said Esterina M. Jonatan, Manager of The Johannes Oentoro Library.

The Johannes Oentoro Library, which is now developing in the digital library era, has the vision of being the campus? community center which lead, inspire, and trigger dynamic spirit of the students to learn and bring out their best performances.

The library does not stop at being the campus? community center ? it has also become the center of academic activities for public such as training for librarians from various schools in Indonesia , workshops, and seminars. Last April, the library held such event called Libanev 2009.

Libanev is held annually by the library to help other libraries from schools in Indonesia provide facilities and complete contribution on knowledge for students.

Next, alongside with UPH Festival 16 which will be held this August, The Johannes Oentor Library will also welcome the new students by holding Information Literacy Program. This program will help the new students understand how to access the library?s facilities, equipments, and collections.
