Business Plan Competition

For the first time, UPH Management Student Body held a business plan competition for high school students. This competition was held as a part of Business Week held on November 7-11, 2011.

SMA Bina Bangsa presented their ideas to the judges. The winners and teh participants of Business Plan Competition.

For the first time, UPH Management Student Body held a business plan competition for high school students. This competition was held as a part of Business Week held on November 7-11, 2011. Approximately 25 teams from various high school across Java sent their business plan proposals in October and 5 teams were chosen to do a presentation in the Grand Final round at UPH on Thursday, November 10, 2011.

Those five chosen teams were SMAK St. Hendrikus Surabaya, SMAK St. John BSD, SMA Karangturi Semarang, SMA Dian Harapan Daan Mogot, and SMA Bina Bangsa PIK. Each team were given 20 minutes to do a presentation regarding their business plan and 20 minutes to be asked by the judges. The judges include Lim Hai Handoko (UPH Management Head of Entrepreneurship Program), Nicko Widjaja (Founder of Thinking Room), and Fanda Soesilo (CEO Maetrika).

?High school students are very eager to join competition. Therefore, we are excited to introduce business plan to them,? told Steaven, the head of Business Plan Competition committee. Each team presented extraordinary ideas. One of the teams from SMA Karangturi explained how they got the idea for the competition. ?We got the idea to make lerak soap from my dad. He washed batik using it and he found out that his hands were okay using it,? Yoanes Maria Vianney, one of the team members, stated.

SMA St. Hendrikus Surabaya took the first place in this competition with their ?Art Caf?? Business Plane while SMA Karangturi Semarang took the second place and SMA St. John BSD took the third. (dee)
