Falcon Project 2012: We Are Not Cavemen, We Have Technology

Falcon Project 2012 was held on Monday, March 19th 2012 until Thursday, March 22nd 2012. The theme for Falcon Project 2012 was ?We Are Not Cavemen, We Have Technology.?

Falcon Project 2012 was held on Monday, March 19th 2012 until Thursday, March 22nd 2012. The theme for Falcon Project 2012 was ?We Are Not Cavemen, We Have Technology.? ?We adopted futuristic concept. From the past to the present, technology has been developing rapidly, such as the development from computer to iPad. This technology development is the theme we adopted, ?said Ristiana Eteng as the Head Committee of Falcon Project 2012.

Falcon Project itself is a joint event from three departments under Faculty of Computer Science; they are Information Systems, Informatics, and Computer Technology. This year, the committee of Falcon Project held an exhibition at Lobby Building B and Lobby Building D that showed the creations from those three departments students. Besides those creations, this exhibition also showed the metamorphosis of game consoles, began with Game boy, Nintendo, Sega, Play Station, to Xbox. They also demonstrated an augmented reality game, which the visitors could play the game on monitor by controlling through web camera. This exhibition got positive responds from the visitors.

There were also a Grpahcon Workshop, where the participants were taught about 3D motion graphic making by two experts, Bian Djiwo and Darmadi Yong Putera. Being aware of internet development, Falcon Project 2012 also held a talk show about internet marketing, with Enda Nasution (Father of Indonesian Blog) and Selina Limman (Founder of Urbanesia) as the speakers.

Falcon Project 2012 also held some competitions which were technological themed, such as Robotic Competition and Cerdas Cermat Competition. Cerdas Cermat Competition was attended by high school teams consisted of three students each, while the Robotic Competition challenged the participants to assemble a simple robot. (sis)
