Irman Gusman as the speaker in Distinguished Guest Speaker Seminar
All people expected a better future, but how about the better future of Indonesia according to them? The head of DPD RI Irman Gusman, reminded the students to look at the future of Indonesia. Thus, it was necessary to remember again the four purposes of country based on UUD ?45, which was to protect all the people of Indonesia including its natural treasure, to promote the general welfare, to gain the intellectual of country, and to implement the world order. The four purposes of country should be applied seriously in order to make a strong generation of Indonesia. He delivered all of these statements at Distinguished Guest Speaker seminar, on Thursday, August 3, 2012, at UPH Festival 19 to the new students of UPH.
He also added in his speech that Indonesia was a democracy and pluralism country, not a religion country. It suited with the philosophy of Pancasila, the motto of Indonesia which was Bhineka Tunggal Ika, and the content of UUD 45 which firmly said that Indonesia was an open to any kind of believes and religions.
?In the field of Economic, we should be proud of the achievement that we got?, Irman said it when he explained the future of Indonesia in the area of economic. However, there were some critics that need to be fixed. It was because the growth of Indonesian economic in the last four years is not yet followed by the economic equitation. On the other hand, in the law area, the corruption was the problem which needed to be concerned, while in the area of social, the problem was in managing the diversity of religions and interests.
This year, through the theme of UPH 19, which was Ready, Set, Grow, Irman didn?t forget to give advice to the new students that they needed to be ready to develop our country become a better Indonesia, because there were many pessimists who said that Indonesia was categorized as one of countries that will be a failed country. ?Let?s make those critical voices as vitamins and this is the job for all of you to develop our country in the future?, he said. ?I hope one day there will be a president or minister from anyone in this room, and the most important is don?t forget to serve or dedicate ourselves to Indonesia?, he said to close his speech.
