Living in a completely new environment sometimes make people quite uncomfortable or distant, especially for those who come from abroad, far away from home. To relieve the feeling of home sickness and to help adapting to new surroundings, International Community Students UPH is ready to assist and to befriend exchange students who are taking classes at UPH.

A series of interesting programs and events have been organized by students who are a part of ICS UPH. They have missions which are introducing Indonesia culture as well as creating a feeling of comfort for exchange students while they spend time studying at UPH. The first event in January, as this was their first visit to Indonesia, ICS UPH together with the exchange students visited Taman Mini Indonesia Indah to experience the diverse culture of Indonesia. At the same time, ICS members were also learning cultures from the exchange students who come from different countries.

A warm atmosphere during gifts exchange in Valentine Dinner
The next event, in February, to celebrate the day of love or well known as the Valentine day, ICS UPH commemorated the occasion with a Valentine Dinner. Valentine Day does not mean spending time with loved one personally but it can also be spent to build relationship with friends. That is the purpose behind the dinner event. Taking place at Mall Bal?kota XXI Lounge, about 10 ICS members and 5 exchange students had their delightful dinner and gifts exchange. Looking at the contented expression of the participants who enjoyed the dinner, the event had gained quite positive responses.

ICS UPH is planning to hold at least 1 event in each month. After the trip to TMII to introduce Indonesia culture in January, continued with Valentine Dinner in February to create a sense of togehterness, this March ICS UPH is organizing a trip to Safari Park. Laslty, the closing event, before the exchange students return to their respective home countries, ICS UPH is preparing a memorable farewell event that will take place at Pulau Macan. Hopefully, through these exciting events, exchange students can bring back wonderful memories when they were studying at UPH and getting know Indonesia culture. (lau)
