On Thursday, 3rd April, 2014, Metro TV co-operated with UPH to hold an Economic Dialogue Event with the theme of ?Let?s make Indonesia as a prosperous nation? and invited Ex Vice President of Indonesian Republic Jusuf Kalla, Expert Team of Metro TV Hendri Saparini, Dean of Economic Faculty Universitas Indonesia Ari Kuncoro, Chairman of Asosiasi Pengusaha Indonesia (APINDO) Sofyan Wanandi, and Dean of Social and Political Science Faculty Universitas Pelita Harapan Aleksius Jemadu. This event was held as a tapping program of Econimic Challenge that usually air on Metro TV Station on Monday 08.00 PM hosted by Suryopratomo and Frida Lidwina.
The topic of the dialogue is about the progress of Indonesian Economic condition that has been increased significantly as well as the increasing number of Indonesian population from the middle class, however this progress is not well supported by the adequate infrastructure development.
Hendri Saparini said the issue can be handled by spreading prosperity equally to reduce the discrepancy among individual, region, and sector. ?There are two important sectors that can create employment opportunity which has been missed, there are agriculture and manufacture. These two sectors had always been forgotten??, explained Hendri. Furthermore, Ari Kuncoro also added that a mechanism is strongly required to make an integrated and an implemented planning that is suitable for the big plan. |

Sofyan Wanandi as a representative of Indonesian entrepreneur said that government now days do not support entrepreneurs in this country to be the main locomotive in the progress of the country. This statement is responded Jusuf Kalla, he suggested that again a power to execute the progress is strongly required and do not let the rules be the obstacle to delay the progress.(ca/au)
